Year 3 - Free Middle School Water Polo Program Fall 2025
Orientation on Saturday, September 6th

@ El Diamante High School and Mt. Whitney High Schools
Includes Water Polo Clinic and Skills Challenge Assessment with
5-time USA Water Polo Olympian Tony Azevedo
Learn the sport of water polo - practice and play games

These grades are included: 6th graders with 7th & 8th graders!
We have expanded our competition to include other schools outside VUSD!
South Valley Aquatics continues the partnership with Visalia Unified School District to develop the:
Middle School Water Polo Program - September to November 2025 for Boys and Girls student-athletes from any
Visalia Unified School District Middle School or Elementary 6th Grader.
THERE IS NO FEE FOR PARTICIPATION - NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
This program is designed to introduce middle school student-athletes to competitive water polo and prepare them to play in high school.
This program is designed to continue and become a permanent Middle School Sport for all Visalia Middle Schools.
Boy student-athletes need a Speedo or jammer swimsuit. Girl student-athletes need a performance swim or water polo suit. After registration a purchase link will be available for VUSD suits, or a limited number of loaner suits will be made available

Saturday, Sept. 6th - Orientation @ El Diamante High School
We have modified orientation day.
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM: All athletes
9:00 AM to 9:30 PM: Check-in, Loaner Suit Pick-up, T-Shirt Pick-up
9:30 AM to 9:45 AM: Welcome, introduction. Agenda
9:45 AM to 11:00 AM: Assessments - 50-yard swim test and Eggbeater test
*Testing will not take long. Testing will begin at 9:45 AM and end at 11:00 AM. Staff will remain at the pool past 11:00 AM if we have students who have not yet completed their assessments.

We will use prior swim and water polo experience and the results of the 50-yard swim tests and eggbeater test to
assign athletes to practice groups and competition teams for practice and games starting Saturday, September 20th.

8:30 AM to 10:00 AM: Boys Practice
10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Girls Practice
11:30 AM to Noon: Break
12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM: Games

Then 5 consecutive weeks of Practice and Game Schedule
