FALL SWIM SESSION 2025

Fall Session for Visalia and Tulare starts August 11th through October 31st. Online registration opens July 17th

Swim practice is held at El Diamante High School in Visalia, and Mission Oak High School in Tulare. You can register for SOVA-Visalia or SOVA Visalia below.

IMPORTANT:

If you register for SOVA Swim, you are entitled to attend ANY swim OR water polo practice in Visalia OR Tulare.

Example: You register for SOVA-Visalia Swim, you can attend any swim or water polo practice in Visalia OR Tulare.

MEET OUR COACHES

SOVA Swim Club is the swim division of South Valley Aquatics. We started our swim club in Spring of 2023 when the TNT Visalia Swim Club stopped operating. Our initial goal was to ensure that youth swimmers in Visalia still have a local option to get a competitive swim practice without needing to travel to another city.

We have worked hard to determine how to best serve our local swim community and we have developed a plan to serve the entire aquatics community.

1. We have welcomed Allyson Briano, College of Sequoias Director of Aquatics, to the South Valley Aquatics Board of Directors

2. We have welcomed Ezra Sisk, COS Assistant Swim Coach on board as our Swim Coordinator

3. We are a USA Swimming Member Swim Club

4. We are offering both Youth (6 to 18) and Masters (adult) swim sessions.

5. We are encouraging cross-over between SOVA Swim & the SOVA Water Polo by offering Dual-Club-Membership in both for one affordable fee.

6. We have begun competing in USA Swimming sanctioned events! We are moving forward.

SOVA Tulare: Learn-to-Swim Classes

SOVA Fall Learn-to-Swim Classes - Tulare

@ Mission Oak High School

The Winter session runs from November 3rd to January 30th. The complete Learn-to-swim course is approximately 16 30-minute lessons. With continuous attendance 4 nights per week for 30 minutes, the class can be completed in 4 weeks. We are flexible with your schedule so it may take you longer to complete 16 classes.

*Note: You may sign up for our competitive swim club if you pass our basic water skills assessment. Just show up at practice and we will administer the assessment, if you don't pass the assessment you can enroll in these Learn-to-swim classes and earn a SOVA Basic Swim Skills Certificate which will allow you to join our competitive swim club.

Learn to swim is for boys and girls ages 5 to 17. Please contact us for adult learn to swim classes

Class schedules available on Monday thru Friday to schedule 30-minutes sessions between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM @ Mission Oak High School

NOTE: Tulare Western will have playoff water polo games at Mission Oak Pool Tuesday November 4th, Thursday November 6th and Wednesday November 12th

4 Week Class Sessions - (4 )30-minute classes per week for 4 weeks* = 16 classes

No more than 4 students per class

$175.00 per 4-week session/16 classes. There is no additional fee if you choose to complete the 16 courses at a slower pace than 4 weeks. You get the full 16 classes at your pace.

Students take four Basic Swim Skills Unit tests on basic swim skills. SOVA Basic Swim Skills Certificate are earned upon successful unit tests.

We are flexible with schedules and working with families to complete the certification.

All youth athletes who want to join SOVA Swim Club and/or SOVA Water Polo Academy must pass a basic swim skills assessment. If they don't pass, they can enroll in the SOVA Learn-to-Swim Classes and earn a SOVA Basic Swim Skills Certificate that will qualify to join the swim and water polo clubs.

After you register just come to the pool between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM Monday thru Friday to meet the instructor and work out your class schedule.
